Apples, Pears and Dandelions

In this recipe I am using fresh or frozen cranberries and they cannot be substituted with dried cranberries. Many of the dried cranberries are sweetened and most often with glucose/fructose. Extra sweetener is not what we need in this smoothie since the banana and the other fruit will provide a sweet taste on its own. Glucose/fructose is actually the Canadian term for High Fructose Corn Syrup, which I believe has no place in our diet anywhere.

If you have never used any dandelions in your smoothies, start slowly. You can always add more, it is harder to take some out if it is already blended

  • 1 medium pear
  • 1 medium apple
  • 1 banana
  • ½ cup cranberries, fresh or frozen
  • Up to 4 cups of dandelions or mix with spinach
  • 1 cup of water
  • ¼ cup avocado (optional)

Blend all ingredients   in your Vitamix or other blender until desired consistency
