Mango Kiwi Kale Smoothie

Mangos and banana make for a lovely smoothie drink. Make sure your mango and kiwis are ripe. That will enhance the flavor and the nutrition.  The amount of kale is just a start, if you like it add some more; kale is a super food and a great addition to your diet

2 cups water
1 large Mango, peeled and seeded
1 banana, peeled
2 Kiwi fruit, peeled
1 Meyer’s Lemon
4 leaves of Kale*

DIRECTIONS:

  • Add first 5 ingredients to blender, blending into a liquid
  • Remove and discard centre stem from Kale leaves – add remaining leaves to blender
  • Blend all together until smooth
  • The GS will be nice and thick – you can always add water to thin it out
  • Fresh lemon juice counters too green a flavour – so always taste test and add more as needed
  • This was made in a Vitamix blender which gives a velvety texture
  • If using a regular blender some Kale bits may remain, try blending longer

* If you use a Vitamix you do not need to discard the centre stem from the kale leaves. The blender is strong enough to blend them up. If you do not have a Vitamix blender use the stems in a stir fry, don’t waste the nutrition and the flavor of this great food
